IMAP
Stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. A method your email reader uses to communicate with your email server. The biggest difference between this and POP3 is, emails are not downloaded to your computer but saved on the server. Any changes to the email account is immediate and live. New mail shows up immediately without having to check mail. Multiple users can also connect to the same account to read/respond.
